How to use Lumetallix. Drip Bottle, UV light, and Spray Reagent
Check out the surprising result!
Lead-Safe Inspectors, like me, cannot use Lumetallix during Lead-Safe Inspections… yet… but you can!
I’m Anthony Weaver, and I’m going to show you how to use Lumetallix Instant Lead Detection test.
Lumetallix is amazing, and it’s a product that does exactly what it says it does… It finds the invisible lead and invisible lead dust unlike anything I’ve ever seen!
If it glows neon green… you’ve found lead!
This old wood window is being replaced, and this kitchen is being renovated. I want to see if this old wood window has lead paint on it.
Inside the Lumetallix Instant Lead Detection test, we have the drip bottle of reagent, we have the UV light, we have the spray reagent, and a battery for the flashlight.
With Lumetallix? It’s easy to use with instant results… I’ll show you!
First thing we’re going to do is wear disposable gloves. We’re messing with lead; it’s a neurotoxin, and we don’t need to get preventable lead poisoning. So, wear disposable gloves.
I’m starting with the Lumetallix drip bottle. I want to know from the get-go if I’m messing with lead paint. I drip the reagent on the window trough area, and…
It glows neon green! It’s lead paint.
The result isn’t a surprise. The likelihood that there’s lead paint on this window was very high.
My question is... How much lead dust is still lurking around?
I’m going to use Lumetallix reagent spray and the UV light to find out.
Use a dry mop head like Swiffer, the generic brand, or a cloth that has static infused to pick up dust.
Fold the cloth to the area you are going to test, and then just simply slide across.
Apply two or three sprays to the cloth.
This is a surprise. I thought I would find waaay more invisible lead dust! There are little green spots, little green specs that are neon green.
Here’s another surprise on the windowsill. There’s no glowing green. None. That doesn’t mean the windowsill wasn’t painted with lead paint; rather, there’s currently no invisible lead dust.
And that’s how you use Lumetallix Instant Lead Detection kit.
Finding invisible lead dust isn’t hard anymore. It’s simple. It’s easy… with Lumetallix.
