What did I do with the bag containing lead paint chips?
Another method of using Lumetallix
In a previous video, the surface was scored with an “X” through all layers of paint, tested with Lumetallix, and had a positive result for lead.
Lumetallix glowed NEON GREEN.
But one thing was found: Lumetallix can stain the surface. (Or does it? More on that topic soon!)
So… why spray or drip Lumetallix on the surface when the paint chips are already collected in the bag? Spray or drip the reagent right into the bag.
The method is the same… First, shine the UV light over the paint chips… no reaction in the bag. Then spray or drip Lumetallix into the bag and shine the UV light over the paint chips.
Now, even though this is filmed in the shade, it’s still bright out. The suggestion is that the darker the environment around the testing area, the easier it is to spot the reaction.
NEON GREEN!!! NEON GREEN!!! It is positive for LEAD!!! It is positive for LEAD!!!
When finished testing with Lumetallix, close and seal the storage bag, and then tape the seal shut. Once you're done, place it in the garbage.
More videos and examples of using Lumetallix coming soon… Hey, the surface is already peeling paint… Why not test that?
